Our Client in Lusaka, Zambia is looking for a couple to join their team for a job vacancy of  Project Manager – Poultry  within the Micro – finance Industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Execute poultry projects in line with organizational goals and donor requirements.
    • Oversee the procurement and distribution of poultry resources such as chicks, feed, and vaccines.
  2. Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Develop performance indicators and track progress against project milestones.
    • Conduct regular field visits to assess project implementation and impact.
    • Prepare and present project reports to stakeholders and donors.
  3. Training and Capacity Building:
    • Train community members on poultry farming best practices, including feeding, disease management, and breeding.
    • Collaborate with local experts to enhance project effectiveness through tailored workshops and knowledge-sharing.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build relationships with government agencies, local farmers, and community leaders to ensure project support and sustainability.
    • Represent the NGO in poultry-related forums and meetings.
  5. Financial and Administrative Oversight:
    • Manage project budgets, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate records of project activities, including beneficiary data and financial transactions.
  6. Sustainability Focus:
    • Develop strategies to ensure the long-term viability of poultry initiatives within communities.
    • Promote environmentally friendly and sustainable poultry farming methods.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience managing poultry or agricultural projects, preferably in the NGO sector.
  • Strong understanding of poultry farming techniques, disease management, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management and reporting.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
