Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Operating Main Pumps stations underground and complying with Government & Domestic Regulations.
  • Inspecting Plant and equipment and testing devices safely according to the Mining Regulations and Standard Procedures.
  • Reporting faults and defects to the Foreman Pumps.
  • Observing established Safety Regulations and Procedures during work.
  • Working in liaison with co-workers in other stations and maintenance personnel.
  • Completing operator’s Log Sheet in accordance with the provisions of the Mining Regulations.
  • Ensuring the pump station is clean and tidy.
  • Understanding the daily plan & prioritizing work within the authority limits of the role

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Must be physically fit.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and corporate objectives.
