Job Title: Refrigeration Technician

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Refrigeration Technician with expertise in commercial refrigeration systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial refrigeration systems. This role requires strong technical abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail in feedback and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and refrigeration systems, including re-gassing.
• Diagnose, service, and repair faults in commercial refrigeration systems and cold rooms across the site.
• Perform commercial refrigeration diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.
• Test, replace, and install refrigeration equipment.
• Clean and test components, and conduct regular servicing of equipment.
• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous substances in compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
• Provide detailed feedback and accurate reporting, including completing job cards and submitting photographic documentation, to the administration team.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and operations personnel to ensure tasks are well-coordinated and completed efficiently.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

• A degree in Refrigeration Engineering or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration systems, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of HSE practices in the context of refrigeration systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear reporting and feedback.
• Proficiency in documentation, including the ability to complete detailed job cards and submit accurate reports.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information

• Job Location: Lusaka Based but travel will be expected
• Employment Type: Full time
