LIAS University College (Formerly Lusaka Institute of Applied Sciences Ltd) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registrar to join our dynamic team. In this senior-management role, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of human resources and administration within the organisation.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Human Resources Management:
- Lead the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive job analysis for vacancies and manage the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Oversee staff welfare, development, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Analyze HR data and maintain accurate personnel records.
- Manage human resource budgets and ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations.
Administrative and Logistical Support:
- Provide effective administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the college.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets for efficient resource allocation.
- Oversee the maintenance of college infrastructure and equipment.
- Manage and maintain key college databases.
- Oversee college transportation needs, including budgeting and vehicle maintenance.
Leadership and Communication:
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the HR and administrative teams.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration across all departments.
- Proactively identify and resolve administrative and operational challenges.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role. (OR)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a management role.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a Registrar or similar role.
- Strong understanding of human resource management principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Membership in the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) with a valid practicing license (highly preferred).
