Job description:

Key Responsibilities

This position will be required to adhere to all requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to safety, health, environment, and quality as well as finance, human resources and other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibility of the function.

The key responsibility shall be to:

  • Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Zambia.
  • The role has responsibility to develop, implement, apply, train and embed the defined critical safety systems within the S3 Process Plant.
  • The safety systems include (but not limited to):
    • Work Permitting
    • Lock Out Tag Out
    • Confined Space
    • Working At Heights
    • Hot Work
  • Define and develop all required procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Define, develop and implement specific theoretical and practical training materials.
  • Conduct theoretical and field training activities, with strong focus on practical competency.
  • Assess competency of relevant personnel (operators, maintainers, contractors etc), and complete the appropriate formal assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive training and coaching records.
  • Define, purchase and maintain the supporting infrastructure and consumables for the relevant safety systems.
  • Act according to FQM Way culture – “Smarter, Bolder, Driven, Together.”
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the plant coordinators.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a grade 12 certificate with Credits in English, Mathematics and / or Science
  • Certificate in Mineral Processing, Safety and Occupational health or any other discipline is an added advantage

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a Concentrator operations or related field or relevant qualification.
  • Training & development experience is an added advantage.
