Health Professions Council of Zambia

The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is a statutory regulatory body under the Ministry of Health with obligations to regulate the registration of health facilities and health practitioners as well as maintaining optimal standards of competence, care and professional conduct. It was established under the Health Professions Act No. 24 of 2009.

The mission of the Health Professions Council of Zambia is to safeguard the quality of healthcare services by regulating and monitoring the professional conduct of Health practitioners, Health facilities and Training Institutions offering HPCZ approved training programmes, HPCZ seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following positions:

SENIOR EXAMINATIONS AND TRAINING OFFICER HEADQUARTERS, LUSAKA (X01) (PERMANENT AND PENSIONABLE ESTABLISHMENT)

Job Profile:

To undertake the processing for approval of health training curricula and coordination of Licensure Examinations in order to ensure compliance to set standards

Main Duties:

  • Undertakes effectively the development, review and issuance of guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures in order to facilitate the approval of curricula and the administration of Licensure Examinations.
  • Undertakes effectively the review and approval of curricula in order to facilitate the education and training of health practitioners
  • Undertakes effectively the provision of technical support for training programmes, curricular and conduct of Licensure Examinations to the regional offices and stakeholders in order to promote adherence to set standards.
  • Undertakes effectively the maintenance of up-to-date records on approved training programmes, curricular and Licensure Examinations in order to facilitate the storage and retrieval of information.
  • Undertakes effectively the monitoring and evaluation of training in the regions in order to facilitate implementation of appropriate interventions.

Reporting relationship:

Reports to the Manager- Examinations and Training

Knowledge and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Health-Related field
  • Certificate in Medical Education
  • Full Grade 12/ Form V School Certificate
  • Valid practicing licences in relevant field
  • Three (03) year’s working experience

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Computer Literate;
  • Negotiation Skills;
  • Report Writing Skills;
  • and Interpersonal Skills.
