BCP (BioCarbon Partners)

BCP is a leading African REDD+ Developer and conservation organization which seeks to sustainably finance wildlife and habitat conservation through the forest carbon markets. BCP’s mission is “making conservation of wildlife habitat valuable to people”. We work with Community and Government partners to help improve the conservation management of over 1 million hectares of globally significant wildlife habitats in Zambia, benefiting over 230,000 people.

BCP is recruiting a Senior Human Resource Officer (SHRO) to support its various human resources functions. This will include facilitation in adhering to BCP HR Policies and Procedures in various aspects of human resources management. Full implementation of the payroll function, input into AWPs’, budgets, and HR Strategy. The SHRO will work closely with the various Team management structures to ensure compliance with BCP administrative standards and with local laws and regulations and will report to the Human Resource Director.

The candidate is expected to be comfortable working in a busy environment, where the right culture is key, and a solid team player, with a growth and coaching mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the BCP HRIS/ESS database, regularly update employee information, and submit reports periodically.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the performance management process in the various departments and provide professional guidance in line with the BCP HR Manual.
  • Facilitate the recruitment process cycle of approved roles, including the selection, orientation, and onboarding of staff in line with the relevant laws and the BCP Human Resource Manual.
  • Participate in the facilitation of strategic decisions aimed at the development of the BCP strategic action plan and implementations.
  • Participate in the formulation of department work plans and budgets.
  • Carry out staff training needs assessment, coordinate and evaluate staff learning, training, and development programs in line with the BCP HR Manual.
  • Prepare the BCP monthly payroll cycle in a timely and accurate manner. Ensures reports are submitted for appr, including attendance and tracking timesheet submission, and Statutory Report preparation.
  • Deal with employees’ grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters and ensure that justice is done.
  • Support the Company in change management, innovation, and succession planning.
  • Liaise with external parties (NAPSA, ZRA, NHIMA, and PENSION FUND) on relevant employee matters.
  • Maintain and ensure an accessible, central filing system; and ensure orderly archiving of official human resource documents.

Alliance Builders Wanted:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • Minimum of a consecutive five (5) years of relevant work experience in the area of human resources management, of which at least three (3) years are at a senior level, with a reputable organization.
  • SAGE 300 People Payroll full cycle experience.
  • Good knowledge of Zambian Employment laws.
  • Valid membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZHIRM)
  • A postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management and /or a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management is an added advantage.
