Job description:
Purpose
- Facilitate and conduct training programs for students in process instrumentation at craft level.
- Provide comprehensive instruction on the principles, installation, calibration, and maintenance of process instrumentation systems.
- Create a dynamic learning environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on experiences.
Key Responsibilities
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
- Train and deem competent the Process Instrumentation trainees
- Maintain oversight of trainees while on site doing their On-The-Job modules
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and update training materials for process instrumentation.
- Design lesson plans, presentations, and practical exercises aligned with craft-level instrumentation training.
- Deliver engaging and interactive classroom instruction on process instrumentation theory and applications.
- Utilize multimedia resources to enhance the understanding of complex instrumentation concepts.
- Conduct practical training sessions for students to develop skills in instrumentation system installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Provide guidance and supervision during hands-on activities in simulated environments.
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student comprehension and proficiency in process instrumentation.
- Offer constructive feedback to students and support them in addressing areas for improvement.
- Integrate modern technologies and simulation tools into training sessions.
- Stay informed about advancements in process instrumentation and incorporate relevant technologies into the curriculum.
- Emphasize and enforce safety procedures in all process instrumentation training activities.
- Ensure good housekeeping in the Process Instrumentation workshop and the immediate surroundings
- Provide guidance on safety standards related to instrumentation systems.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and assessments.
- Generate regular reports on training activities, student progress, and areas for curriculum improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in process instrumentation.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance training methodologies.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested of you by your supervisor, in line with effective operations of the Training Department.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum Technician Certificate in Process Instrumentation or Equivalent
- Minimum Diploma in Teaching Methodology from a recognized institution
- Member of EIZ
- Teveta accredited trainer/assessor
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years relevant training experience in the mining Industry
