JOB PURPOSE
This function plays a key role in supporting the design, development, and implementation of innovative technology solutions. This role assists in translating business needs into technical architectures, developing scalable systems, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Working closely with the Senior Specialist – Solutions Architect and other teams, the Specialist will contribute to the execution of innovation initiatives by assisting in solution design, testing, and deployment.
Under the supervision of the Solutions Architect Senior Specialist, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and developing technical architectures to address business requirements.
- Create system diagrams, documentation, and workflows that align with solution architecture guidelines.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure designs are translated into functional solutions.
- Support the implementation of solutions, ensuring proper integration with existing systems.
- Assist in conducting solution testing to validate performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during development and implementation phases.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and align them with technical solutions.
- Support communication with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure smooth solution delivery.
- Provide technical input during discussions, workshops, and project meetings.
- Prepare technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and design specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of solution architectures and implementation processes.
- Contribute to status reports and updates on ongoing solution development initiatives.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, architecture frameworks, and best practices.
- Identify areas for improvement in existing systems and propose innovative solutions.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of new solutions.
- Any other responsibilities or tasks as maybe assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 Certificate with Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) are advantageous.
- Zambia Qualifications Authority (Zaqa) Verification Certificate for Tertiary Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience with at least 4 years in software development, IT architecture, or solution design roles.
- Experience working with modern technologies, cloud platforms, and APIs.
- Proficiency in solution design tools and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or microservices architecture).
- Familiarity with APIs, databases, and system integration techniques.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and automation frameworks is a plus.
