We are seeking a dedicated Stores Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in efficiently managing our stock and ensuring smooth operations within our organization. The Stores Clerk will perform a range of essential duties and contribute to maintaining our inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receipt and Shipping: Receive and ship stock accurately, verifying against packing slips or invoices to identify shortages, damages, or missing items.
  • Storage Management: Safely store stock in designated areas to maintain an organized and accessible inventory.
  • Order Fulfilment: Efficiently fulfil orders by retrieving items from stock in response to authorized requisitions.
  • Delivery and Pick-up: Deliver stock and other items to various departments or offices as needed, and may also handle stock pick-ups.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in counting and recording inventory to ensure accuracy and timely replenishment.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the stockroom, warehouse, and loading area.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other related duties as assigned to support the overall operations.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic stock keeping procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan and execute random stock checks and maintain proper storage.

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Holds a full Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or stockroom setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of warehousing practices is an added advantage.

Physical Standards:

  • Physically capable of performing the assigned duties, including lifting and moving stock as needed.
