Studio Producer

Job Purpose of a Studio Producer

Developing, creating arranging composing & songs, running recording sessions, suggesting changes to instrumentation, effects, and lyrics. Guiding in the mixing, mastering, and recording engineers and refining recorded music for public presentation.

Reporting to: Coordinator Business Studies

Principal Accountabilities (Main Duties)

  • To prepare schemes of work, lesson plan, and teach students on the set curriculum.
  • Arranges compositions, runs recording sessions, and suggests changes to instrumentation, effects, and lyrics.
  • Guides the mixing, mastering, and recording engineers.
  • Gathers ideas and inspiration for projects and develops the vision and direction for each project.
  • Manages project budgets and handles contracts and negotiations.
  • Develops production timelines and tracks advertiser supplied product & assets for integrations.
  • Keeps internal department workflow and tracking documents up to date.
  • Logs and archives all content the company produces.
  • Edits music clips of integrated content the company produces and uploads on the company’s web site.
  • Works closely with the network or studio scheduling teams to track delivery, air/publish dates, and times of upcoming integrated content.
  • Support the team on all integrations and proposals.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate with 5 credits or better including Mathematics and English.
  • Minimum of an earned Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music or Science of Music from an accredited and reputable University
  • Demonstrated ability to have a firm grasp of sound editing techniques
  • Ability to abide by Music industry laws and ethics
  • Computer literate and must be conversant in Microsoft Office package
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in using digital audio hardware and software
  • At least 25 years old
