Job Title: Chemistry and Physics Teacher
Job Location: Pestalozzi Education Centre, Zambia
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development:
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans for chemistry and physics classes based on the Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ) and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) syllabi.
- Ensure alignment with national educational standards and international benchmarks.
- Classroom Instruction:
- Conduct effective and interactive classroom sessions to impart knowledge of chemistry and physics concepts.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, educational technology, and practical demonstrations to enhance the learning experience.
- Laboratory Work:
- Plan and oversee laboratory experiments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Integrate practical applications to reinforce theoretical concepts in both chemistry and physics.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop, administer, and grade assessments in line with ECZ and CIE guidelines.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress.
- Individualized Support:
- Offer additional assistance and guidance to students who may need extra support in chemistry and physics.
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding students’ academic performance.
- ECZ and CIE Compliance:
- Stay updated on ECZ and CIE requirements, ensuring that the curriculum is taught effectively and examination preparation aligns with standards.
- Familiarize yourself with ECZ and CIE examination formats and assist students in exam preparation.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
- Enforce discipline policies consistently and fairly.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance the overall quality of education.
- Participate in department meetings and contribute to curriculum development discussions.
- Professional Development:
- Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions to stay current with advancements in education and subject matter.
- Extracurricular Involvement:
- Encourage student participation in science-related clubs, competitions, and projects.
- Support and guide students in extracurricular activities related to chemistry and physics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or license from the Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ) or relevant authorities.
- Familiarity with ECZ and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) syllabi.
- Strong knowledge of chemistry and physics concepts.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Experience in using educational technology for teaching and assessment.
