Job description:

Purpose of the role:

Responsible for imparting new skills set in artisans on site in order to enhance net proficiency output and to transfer good maintenance practices and a safety behavior to the maintenance personnel.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
  • Facilitate knowledge delivery according to the needs identified in the various sections of fleet Maintenance department.
  • Identify and adopt coaching methodologies for continuous learning in order to effectively deliver training.
  • Champion quality and provide visible leadership ‘on-the-floor’ in FQM operations.
  • Undertake formal assessments of artisans with a view of identifying good performers to take up senior roles and further development.
  • Design and complete assessments against the FQM proficiency framework.
  • Coaching artisans on identified skills in order to enhance their performance.
  • Prepare practical assessments for artisans to evaluate the behavior impact after a training.
  • Provide regular candid feedback to artisans during and after the training and celebrate success in order to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with training department to define training needs based on assessments completed.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full Grade twelve (G12) school certificate.
  • Minimum of diploma in Heavy Equipment Repair or trade equivalent.
  • A degree in the relevant field of study will be an added advantage.
  • Solid computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs is an advantage.
  • OEM certification to Level 3/4 will be an added advantage.
  • Valid EIZ Practicing Certificate
