Job Description

The Finance Officer shall be responsible for verification and tagging of Infratel fixed assets, reconciliation of verification data to the fixed assets registers, recording any acquisitions or sales of fixed assets and their depreciation, file any forms related to the transactions, and work with any internal or external personnel to ensure the protection of those assets and the accuracy of the record keeping.

Key Responsibilities

Asset tagging and recording

  • Tag Assets at INFRATEL’s various location and record asset details such as Asset description, location, statusand or condition.
  • Reconcile the Fixed assets register to the verified and tagged assets.
  • Compile of status report on tagged assets and reconciliation of all verified and tagged assets.
  • Track asset movements between sites.
  • Ensure all tagged assets recorded on sites visits are captured the Assets Module of the ERP.

Fixed Assets Ledger processing

  • Ensure timely and accurate transfer of account data to General Ledger/Assets Module.
  • Perform accounting activities asper established accounting standards, policies, and procedures.

Maintain Fixed Assets records

  • Maintain fixed asset system for accounting, processing, and reporting of the assets.
  • Review and maintain accounting records related to Fixed Assets
  • Organize and maintain fixed asset documentations for references.
  • Ensure all Assets are coded and monitored

Resolution of irregularities

  • Promptly investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquiries related to Fixed.
  • Ensure all stolen assets are properly accounted for
  • Diploma in Accountancy or its equivalent.
  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Member of ZICA
  • Knowledge of IFRS/IAS
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software (such as Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks).
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
  • Proficient in data entry and management.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet firm deadlines, proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage priorities.
  • Perform day to day financial transactions related to fixed Assets.
  • Preparation of All Asset related Schedules
  • Asset tagging and verification.
  • Reconcile the Fixed Assets ledgers to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

Years of Experience Required
  • Grade 12 School Certificate

  • 1 year of accounting experience.

    Diploma in Accountancy or its equivalent.
