Our client in Lusaka, is looking for a Workshop Manager – Steel Fabrication to join their team for a job vacancy within the construction industry.

 Responsibilities
  •  Oversee daily workshop operations and staff.
  •  Oversee the entire steel structure fabrication process.
  •  Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards.
  •  Manage and lead a team of fabricators and welders.
  •  Maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  •  Schedule and prioritize tasks effectively.
  •  Manage budgets and ensure projects are completed within budget.
  •  Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure project specifications are met.
  •  Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed.
  •  Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
  •  Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  •  Provide training and support to staff.
  •  Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  •  Order and manage inventory of materials and supplies.
  •  Coordinate with other departments as needed.
  •  Maintain accurate records of project progress and costs.
  •  Prepare and present reports to senior management.
  •  Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  •  Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role.
  •  Strong leadership and management skills.
  •  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  •  Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  •  Experience with budgeting and financial management.
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and workshop management software.
  •  Strong attention to detail.
  •  Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff.
  •  Experience with quality control procedures.
  •  Ability to train and support staff.
  •  Knowledge of industry trends and developments.
  •  Experience with inventory management.
  •  Ability to prepare and present reports.
  •  Strong technical knowledge of workshop equipment and processes.
